With grace you glide on life’s calm lake, seeing your beauty in its pure reflection.
In The Ugly Duckling, by Hans Christian Andersen, an odd duck tries to tone down her best qualities in order to fit in. With self-reflection though, she comes to see herself more clearly. Humility doesn’t mean denigrating ourselves, but in accepting both our beauty and our warts.
Swan might be suggesting you take time for self-reflection if you’ve been disowning parts of yourself, or feeling less than.
Grace comes from releasing shame and embracing the fullness of who we are.
Reflection
If Swan has ruffled her feathers, trying to get your attention:
Look in the mirror. What 10 qualities do you like about yourself?
When can you find time for self-reflection? Where can you find or create a serene environment, i.e. still waters?
Flip three criticisms you’ve received into positive statements. Lazy = easy going. Moody = tuned in. Unrealistic = visionary.
JOY | POTENCY
Flitting from one thimble of joy to the next, you surprise and delight with flashes of iridescence.
Feisty Hummingbird packs a lot of personality into a small package. The message is to distill to a concentrated form. Like tiny helicopters, Hummingbirds are the only birds that can fly in all directions—forwards, backward, up and down. Their lightness keeps them nimble, which makes it easy to find the nectar hidden in tiny flowers. All you need is a tiny taste of your Dream to get your heart racing.
Hummingbird tells us to keep moving, dive in and go after what we want with a big appetite for life. Short and sweet is the motto, whether it’s board meetings, conversations, or vacations.
Reflection:
If Hummingbird is buzzing by you today, where will it find sweetness in your life? What brings you joy? Can you get a taste of it somehow today?
What is in bloom right now? Aspects of our lives bloom and subside or even go dormant. What is in season now? What “fills you up?”
Where in your life can you “lighten up?” What needs paring down so you can fully enjoy the essentials?
PERSPECTIVE | FOCUS
Majestically soaring, you bring a lofty perspective. Catching thermals, you are carried further than you ever dreamed.
Soaring high above the clouds, Eagle can spot opportunities from miles away. When you “rise above” it all, you can see the bigger picture, make plans, get a vision. The storms don’t bring you down if you’re soaring above them. Eagle’s broader perspective makes all the difference.
With determined focus, she flies straight for what she wants and locks on with her sharp talons with split-second precision. This single-minded focus pays off for her and her family.

MAGIC | BOLDNESS
Bold, audacious scavenger misfit, you’re beyond cause and effect, filling your sky with magic. You congregate, contemplate, and create from the deep void.
Crafty Crow is one smart cookie. They can use tools and perform a series of tasks, a sign of high intelligence. Crows have been known to train humans to feed them by “repaying” them with small trinkets and shiny wrappers. Crows also have emotional intelligence. They associate faces with a person’s past behavior and will hold grudges. The lesson here is give-and-take, forming mutually beneficial relationships. Talkative Crow reminds us to speak up and use our voice, particularly if someone has crossed our boundaries.
Playful Crow is the keeper of Magic, the unexpected surprises, synchronicities and hidden gems that keep life interesting.
